Canal carp fishing Den Haag

I fish in den haag and wassenaar often but I had some luck in the beginning and caught a few 5 kilo fish. But I have tried many different ponds with no luck. I am thinking of trying to fish the canals. Any tips? Is it the same as fishing in a pond? I was thinking of dropping bait into the water two days in advance. I was also planning to use a mix of tiger nuts and ground bait particles in a pva bag. I have had success with stinky fish garlic boilies so I will fish with that. Any tips are appreciated.

The most and important rule is location. Spend some time to find the carp's holding and feeding area's!
Otherwise you're wasting your time.(in most cases)

Thanks for the reply im going around looking for signs of carp in the canals. I will go look around Leiden too.
